Payday: The Heist is going to be free for download on Steam this week

The much-appreciated Payday: The Heist is all set to be doled out for free via Steam for a limited time this week. Yes, meaning a full download of the game will be yours to keep and play for as long as you want. Currently selling on Valve’s digital distribution platform for $14.99, this first-person shooter was first released back in October 2011.

Payday: The Heist will go free to all Steam account holders starting on Thursday, October 16 at 10am. It will only be available for 24 hours after that, so you don’t have a lot of leeway if you’re of the lazy types. If you grab the game during this period, it will be yours to keep forever.

What would convince you to count Payday: The Heist as one of the best Steam games? The concept is a pretty impressive one at its core. It might not be in the top 3 list, but it’s nonetheless a truly amazing offering for PC gamers. Apart from the said platform, it’s also available for the PS3.

Developed by Overkill Software, it features cooperative first-person shooter gameplay that has palyers assuming the roles of bank robbers and performing tasks ranging from planning to executing the heists. It features several random events and this makes its gameplay flexible and fun to revel in.

Payday: The Heist has also been blessed with a sequel named Payday 2 which was released in 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. This title builds upon its predecessor, and even introduces additional features like more customization options and fully reworked stealth mechanics.
